Chargers

Chargers

Connect, monitor, and manage OCPP chargers.

Add a charger

  1. Open Chargers.
  2. Choose Add charger.
  3. Enter a name and the exact OCPP identity.
  4. Select a site.
  5. Add a password if needed.
  6. Save.

The charger shows as Planned until it connects. Copy the generated wss:// endpoint into the charger settings. It already includes the charger identity.

Remote operations

You can send:

  • Soft or Hard Reset;
  • Operative or Inoperative availability;
  • BootNotification, Heartbeat, StatusNotification, or MeterValues trigger;
  • Unlock Connector.

The charger must be online and support the command. Check Logs if it is rejected or times out.

The Operations tab also contains charger editing, OCPP password changes, workspace transfer, and deletion. These actions require edit access.

Tariffs and profiles

Assign a tariff or charging profile to all connectors or one connector. A public charger needs a tariff for every connector.

Charging profiles only work on chargers that support OCPP Smart Charging. An Accepted reply means the charger accepted the command.

Make a charger public

Open Publicity. The portal checks:

  • site coordinates;
  • payment setup;
  • tariffs for all connectors;
  • plan access to public charging.

Complete the checklist and choose Make public.

Transfer a charger

From Operations, you can:

  • move the charger directly to another workspace you can manage, selecting its new site; or
  • send a transfer request to another account by email.

Pending email requests can be cancelled. Incoming requests appear on the Chargers page and can be accepted into a selected site or declined.

Tariffs, access, payment, and site settings belong to a workspace. Review them after a transfer.

Tagless charging

Approved host administrators can enable Tagless from the charger Overview. Enabling it creates the managed local user and OCPP authorization; disabling it removes them.

Before the first Tagless charge:

  1. Connect the same supported vehicle in the EVCharge mobile app and Tagless.
  2. Use the same valid VIN in both systems.
  3. Give the driver access to the charger.
  4. Keep the vehicle online while Tagless identifies it.

Tagless controls may be hidden for normal workspace administrators.

Common problems

The charger stays Planned

Check the server address, identity, password, internet connection, and OCPP 1.6 JSON setting.

A command fails

Confirm the charger is online, then check its OCPP reply in Logs.

A firmware update does not start

Use a valid HTTP or HTTPS firmware URL and confirm the charger supports OCPP firmware updates. Refresh the Firmware tab to see the latest status and reported version.

A profile is rejected

Check the profile type, rate unit, connector, and charger Smart Charging support.

Only change electrical or OCPP settings when you understand the charger manufacturer's requirements.
