Quickstart
Add your first charger and connect it to EVCharge.mobi.
Before you start
You need:
- a CPO Portal account;
- the charger's OCPP identity;
- access to the charger's settings.
When adding a charger to an existing workspace, you also need permission to create chargers.
Sign in with your email and password. You can register or reset your password from the same page. Google sign-in appears only when it is configured for your portal host.
Step 1Register the first charger
If your account has no workspace yet, the Dashboard shows the first-charger setup.
- Enter the charger's exact OCPP identity. Some branded portals ask for a serial number instead.
- Enable Set password and enter a password if the charger will use one.
- Save the setup and copy the displayed server address.
The first successful OCPP connection creates the initial workspace, site, and charger. You can rename and complete them afterwards.
If you already have a workspace, open Chargers, choose Add charger, select an existing site, and save.
Step 2Connect the charger
The copied wss:// address already ends with the charger identity.
In the charger settings:
- Select OCPP 1.6 JSON.
- Enter the copied server address.
- Enter the same charger identity and password. Do not add the identity to the URL a second time.
- Save and restart the charger if required.
Return to the portal. The charger changes from Planned when it connects.
Step 3Complete the site
- Open Sites.
- Open the site created for the first charger, or choose Add site.
- Enter its name, address, timezone, latitude, and longitude.
- Open the site and check its map position.
- Save your changes.
Accurate map coordinates are required for public charging.
Step 4Check the connection
- Make sure every connector is listed.
- Open Logs and look for
BootNotification, then later heartbeats and status messages. - Check that the charger status is online.
Step 5Choose how drivers can charge
For private charging, add drivers in Users and give them charger access.
For public paid charging:
