Power management

Power Management

Share a site's available electrical power between chargers.

Power Management is also called Dynamic Load Management (DLM). It requires compatible chargers and may depend on your plan.

Create a charge pool

  1. Open Sites and select a site.
  2. Open Power Management.
  3. Choose Load power data.
  4. Choose Create empty pool.
  5. Enter a pool name and current limit in amperes.
  6. Assign chargers.
  7. Set their priority.
  8. Choose Save charge pools.

A pool can contain chargers or smaller pools. A smaller pool cannot have a higher limit than its parent pool.

Charger status

The page shows whether each charger supports Smart Charging:

  • Supported
  • Not supported
  • Not verified

It also shows the profile result:

StatusMeaning
AcceptedThe charger accepted the limit
PendingWaiting for the charger
RejectedThe charger refused the limit

Open the charger logs if a profile is rejected.

External meters

A supported external meter can adjust the available site current. Configure:

  • the meter provider and ID;
  • how the meter value should be read;
  • reserved current;
  • a safe limit for missing or old meter data;
  • how long meter data stays valid (TTL).

Check Last seen and Effective limit to confirm that meter data is current.

Safe setup

  1. Test one charger first.
  2. Use a limit below the site's electrical capacity.
  3. Start a controlled charging session.
  4. Confirm the charger accepted the profile.
  5. Add other chargers gradually.

Common problems

A charger cannot be assigned

It may be in another pool, belong to another site, or not support Smart Charging.

The limit is not changing

Check charger connectivity, profile status, meter Last seen, and the safe offline limit.

Changes disappeared

Changes are not stored until Save charge pools succeeds.

Power limits affect live equipment. Ask a qualified installer if you are unsure about the site's safe capacity.
